MrKreme and Wee Toys Gallery join forces to bring us Mushkin‘s First Year Anniversary Exhibition
In collaboration with Wee Toys Gallery, MrKreme is hosting a solo show dedicated to the anniversary of his character, Mushkin. The show will feature one-offs, customs, paintings, sculptures, and more. With over 15 gifted artists submitting their customs, let your creative juices flow!
International collectors fret not, as it seems that there will be a way to acquire these grails without traveling to Thailand. Before we get to that, however, here’s a small taste of the customs that will be in store.
Tomodachi Island‘s Monchi Mush Mushkin

Tomodachi Island’s entry, Monchi Mush, is the custom equivalent of any cute fluffy animal; it will make your heart melt. Seriously, it’s adorable! Tomodachi’s attention to detail is consistently incredible, from the twinkling big eyes, to the freckles, fur, and hair features. There is a vast range of textures and finishes on the paint, from glimmering metallics to the matte-finish fur. Tomodachi has a lot to be proud of in Monchi Mush.

Skullman‘s Mushkin Custom

On the other side of the coin is Skullman’s Mushkin, which faintly resembles a metal statue. The color scheme is muted, but the various tones and the metallic look breathe depth into the custom. The immense detail in the horns, face, and skull bring an ancient relic-look to it. Skullman has done a fantastic job at giving a mythological air to the Mushkin. Bravo!

seriouslysillyk‘s Mushkin ducky:

seriouslysillyk’s Mushkin radiates her style of vibrant colors and cutesy quirkiness. The custom has a sweet charm, and the rather amusing contrast of an innocent duck in a furry monster suit. There is soft detail in the clothing and features, to produce a well-crafted and precious custom. Arguably the most captivating element is the cosmic designs in the Mushkin’s eyes. It’s a great touch that plays into Seriously Silly K’s bubbly fantasy style.

MAR2INA‘s Mushkin one-off:

Taiwanese street-artist and straight-up badass, MAR2INA, took a different direction with her Mushkin. The monster’s fur has vibrant warm fading hues of pink, orange, and red, with a striking contrast to the cooler hues of blues and purples on the face and nails. MAR2INA steered away from a richly detailed Mushkin, and instead packed a colorful punch with a fun and modern appearance.

The rest of the Mushkin crew!
Some of the other artists include: Josh Mayhem, Jon-Paul Kaiser, Vivian Wang, Mr. Kumkum, Bakumba, Ngaew Ngaew, possibly Remjie Malham, and several others!
There is no doubt that the creativity of all the featuring artists will inspire and awe fellow artists and fans alike. And for fans of MrKreme’s work, there will even be a launch of new character designs!
The Mushkin anniversary exhibition is due to take place at Thailand’s Palette Artspace from February 12 to 15.
As for how you can acquire one of customs, according to Wee Toys’ replies on social media, there will be a pre-order period from December 18 to 20.
